That book sounds brilliant, would love to borrow it. Have just read a great book myself, called "Always Liza to Me." A memoir of woman who is an identical twin, and a sister of a severely intellectually disabled girl. Her struggles lie in self identity - away from her sister with a disability, then later in discovering who she is as an individual, not a twin.

She explores what it means to reach back and have a relationship with her disabled sister - someone who teaches her lessons that can only be learnt through her uniqueness.

I found it a brilliant read, I've worked with people with disabilities over many years now, and seen how siblings have dealt with their brothers/sisters, often visiting out of obligation, not knowing how to connect, and then there are some who develop a brilliant relationship with their brother and sister. it was great to have an intimate insight into a families perspective of living with a child with a disability.
