Having read J.K.Rowling's speech I was impressed with her definition of success as well as failure. Or should I say I was left unimpresed due to the familiar verbage. We are bombarded with similiar descriptions of pulling oneself up and realizing ones potential after a season of abysmal disappointing results of one's efforts. I can read the same jargon in Investment Magazines. There was little originality in her remarks. The greatest failure was not Adolf Hitler, or Alexander the Great but the so called Jewish Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth. With his own words he sets himself up. He said, "By myself I can do nothing,...I seek not to please myself but him who sent me." He took the place of subordination when he said, "The Son can do nothing by himself." This flies in the face of the premise of every self help book I have ever read or intend to read.
