Wheeler Container Travel Adventures

The Wheeler family travel curse continues this time on mega scale. We had been waiting all week to hear news about our container which was supposed to arrive in the U.S. on Monday, April 19th. We finally heard yesterday that it was in Houston and would arrive at our home on Saturday with movers. Today, we received word that our container was not in Houston but rather was in Los Angeles and even at that, the moving company was not quite sure where it was at or when it would arrive.

A lame excuse was offered that due to the Volcanic activity in Iceland, it had been delayed. I am puzzled by this since the container was coming by ship and not by plane; it was coming on the Pacific Ocean, not the North Atalantic and was supposed to make its way to us via truck or train not via hot air balloon or other air vehicle.

So we are planning to move into the house anyway, with a couple of blow-up beds, a few pieces of kitchenware, a grill and a television--we can more than survive.

Hi Meredith and Naomi,

I hope by now your container has caught up with you! Let me know how things went.

I also wanted to say thanks again, Meredith, for the help you gave us on buying the car. I'm not sure we got a bottom dollar deal but we are VERY happy with the car and so thankful to have it. Thanks!

Joan
